Yesterday, I was honoured to witness the lighting of the beacon in Wolverhampton on the 80th anniversary of D-Day as High Sheriff of the West Midlands.

June 6, 1944, stands as a defining moment in history when Allied forces embarked on a mission to liberate Europe from oppression.
