As the High Sheriff of the West Midlands, I had the honour of attending the Grand African Ball. This was an event dedicated to celebrating and preserving African heritage within our community which was hosted by the Highlife Centre.
I was delighted to give the opening speech highlighting the importance of unity and cultural appreciation in our diverse County.
Throughout the event we were introduced to the the Heritage Resilience Project. We also enjoyed a series of captivating performances that showcased the incredible talent and rich traditions within our community. The event also emphasised the vital role of the African Heritage Network in addressing socio-economic challenges and fostering collaboration among organisations dedicated to African heritage.
