As High Sheriff of the West Midlands, I had the honour of hosting the Annual Justice Service at Birmingham Cathedral, led by The Very Reverend Matt Thompson, Dean of Birmingham. This service marked the beginning of the judicial year and provided a valuable opportunity for the West Midlands community to recognise and appreciate the dedication of those who uphold justice.
The wonderful service brought together judges, legal professionals, law enforcement and community leaders all united in our commitment to the principles of justice and the rule of law.
It was inspiring to see such a strong turnout demonstrating the community’s support for those who work tirelessly to uphold justice. I am grateful to J Chowdhury for leading the Act of Dedication, my High Sheriff Chaplain Rev Canon Becky Stephens for her beautiful sermon and all who participated in making this service a meaningful occasion. Myself and The Lord Lieutenant delivered the readings. Thank you to everyone who attended this very special service.
