Aylesbury Health & Engagement Forum – Friday 22nd November 2024

Last week, I had the honour of visiting the Aylesbury Health & Engagement Forum and meeting with Mr. Mehta. Established in 2016, the Forum aims to raise health awareness in the local community, connecting patients with vital resources for conditions like diabetes, mental health issues, and obesity.

Through quarterly meetings, the Forum has become a bridge between community members and local organisations. Their Annual Health Walk promotes fitness and fosters connections among residents, while Diwali celebrations and community fetes encourage diversity and inclusivity.

The Forum also engages with local schools during festive seasons, helping children understand healthcare and participate in creative activities. Their commitment to charitable causes is commendable, having raised over £20,000 for end-of-life charities and organised Christmas collections for the homeless.

It was inspiring to see the dedication of Mr. Mehta and the team, and I look forward to supporting their important work in the community.
