I had the honour of visiting Birmingham Women’s Hospital as High Sheriff of the West Midlands. This visit was a great opportunity to engage with the dedicated staff and learn about the vital work being done to care for women and babies.
We were warmly welcomed and introduced to the Birmingham Women’s Hospital team. We were then given a tour of where we gained valuable insights into the expertise provided to newborns and their families. Our tour went through every different ward and service that this exceptional hospital provides for Women and babies. The specialist care and equipment in the neo-natal unit was inspiring and truly impressive in so many ways.
We also visited Woodland House, the newly created Bereavement Centre, which is a calm and beautiful space dedicated to supporting families through the most difficult times.
The visit finished with a really interesting presentation from the team. We really do have an amazing hospital in our community which is fuelled by so many passionate people. A huge thank you to Louisa Davidson and her team for their warm hospitality and for the incredible work they do every day. It was truly an inspiring visit.
