As the High Sheriff of the West Midlands, I had the immense pleasure of attending the BPSO Proms Night Spectacular at Birmingham’s Symphony Hall on Saturday. 🎶.
Despite the blustery conditions outside the evening was filled with vibrant performances that showcased the incredible talent of the British Police Symphony Orchestra. The atmosphere was electric and it was a joy to see so many community members come together to celebrate the power of music. Truly incredible that this all began 35 years ago and all the orchestra and support staff are volunteers and are all part of the UK police family. It was very special to hear performances too from the Dementia choir from the East Midlands which Vicky McClure from the Line of Duty champions so exceptionally.
Thank you to Mr Craig Guildford and the BPSO for the invitation and for their dedication to fostering community spirit through the arts. Events like this remind us of the important role that music plays in bringing people together.
