As High Sheriff of the West Midlands, it was a privilege to attend and speak at the farewell service for the Right Reverend Anne Hollinghurst who served as the Bishop of Aston since 2015. It was a very poignant service at Birmingham Cathedral on Sunday. Bishop Anne’s unwavering dedication to promoting education, empowering young people and nurturing social cohesion (in so many different ways) has touched the lives of many and created an exceptional legacy.
Bishop Anne’s forthcoming appointment as Principal of the Queen’s Foundation, Birmingham, a diverse theological training and research institution, is a testament to her nine years of stellar service.
I wish Bishop Anne all the best in her new role. Our loss is the Queen’s Foundation’s considerable gain. Please stay in touch.
