James Brindley Foundation – Monday 23rd September 2024

I had the great honour of visiting the James Brindley Foundation in Aldridge  as I officially opened their new HQ. As the High Sheriff of the West Midlands, I was very thankful to be part of this significant event for an organisation that stands as a powerful advocate against violence. It was such a special occasion and it was extremely poignant to see how many of the community, where I almost live myself, turned out to support this special foundation. We heard from volunteers and also were treated to some great dances by students from Walsall College.

The James Brindley Foundation was established in memory of James , their son,  who tragically lost his life to knife crime on the high street in 2017. Since its inception, the Foundation has been dedicated to raising awareness about the impact of violence and providing support to those affected by such tragedies. Their mission to create a safer community resonates deeply and is nothing but inspiring. To see what the family have created for our community after their loss was very special. They deserve huge credit for creating this exceptional community resource. This new HQ will serve as a hub for their important work, enabling them to expand their outreach.
As High Sheriff, I am committed to supporting initiatives that promote safety and well-being in our communities. The work of the James Brindley Foundation is not just vital, it is a testament to the resilience and strength of our community in the face of tragedy.
I look forward to seeing the continued growth and impact of the James Brindley Foundation and encourage everyone to support their mission in any way they can.
I was inspired by the dedication of everyone involved and the positive impact they are making in Walsall and beyond. I took this speaking opportunity to reiterate the power of community cohesion and to thank all their very special volunteers.
