As High Sheriff of the West Midlands, I met with Michael Forbes. Formed four years ago, Michael’s Mentors is dedicated to supporting pupils aged 5 to 16 years old across primary, secondary and special educational needs schools.
They work tirelessly with some of the hardest to reach students, addressing a range of challenges. These include behavioural issues, gang activity, social emotional and mental health concerns and the impact of domestic violence and abuse. Their commitment extends across the West Midlands, East Midlands, and even schools as far as Wrexham.
Michael’s mentors has received numerous accolades including the
‘Mayor’s Mentor of the Year’. This organisation is best in class and is really making a real difference to the lives of young people in our region.
