Today as the High Sheriff of the West Midlands I had the honour of sounding the horn to start the Sutton Coldfield Fun Run. The beautiful day was a resounding success in making a positive impact in the community. The event, which has been running for 40 years raising over £5 million for over 110 charities today saw enthusiastic participation from 4800 people of all ages and abilities raising over money for their chosen charities on the 8.5 mile route through Sutton Coldfield.
The sense of unity and camaraderie was palpable as runners, volunteers, and supporters came together to make the Sutton Coldfield fun run a truly memorable event. The dedication and enthusiasm shown by all involved, from sponsors to participants, exemplified the community’s commitment to supporting those in need. As the High Sheriff of the West Midlands, I am proud to have been part of such a meaningful initiative and look forward to the continued success of future events that promote health, well-being, and charitable giving in our community. Today’s run was a testament to the power of community spirit and the impact we can make when we come together for a common cause.
