The High Sheriffs Recruiting Magistrates Programme Event

Since I became the High Sheriff of the West Midlands I have become aware that we need more people to volunteer as magistrates.

I and my High Sheriff Clerk Kayleigh have leveraged all of my contacts in order to educate and encourage people to become Magistrates. I have been overwhelmed by how many people have expressed an interest in this vital role. Recently we held a virtual session about the role of the Magistrate.
On Wednesday 3rd July I hosted a High Sheriff Supporting Magistrates Programme Event at the Grand Theatre. It was wonderful to hear from Black Country family court magistrates Mia and Tanya, Her Honour Judge Sonia Harris, CEO of the Grand Adrian Jackson, and our very own St John Ambulance cadet Isabelle who also aspires to work in the family court one day.
Thank you to all who attended and to the team at the Grand Theatre for hosting us. If you missed the session and would like to find out more information on how to apply to become a magistrate, please email [email protected].

I look forward to continuing to show my support for magistrates and the important work they do in our community.

Watch out for breaking news on how to become a Magistrate in Birmingham.
