As the High Sheriff of the West Midlands, I had an inspiring visit to Better Pathways in Birmingham. I was truly impressed by the impactful work they do to support individuals facing mental health challenges, learning difficulties and disabilities within the West Midlands. Better Pathways is a great charity that produces goods for many different businesses produced by their participants which ultimately help fund educational and pathway programmes.
Their mission is to empower people through broad based vocational activities within their social enterprises helping them build the confidence needed to start their employment journey. Better Pathways provides vital support by assisting those in need with opportunities for volunteering, training and education. They also offer training to organisations to safeguard mental health and well-being. Their programmes help boost confidence and self-esteem and provide mental health support to enhance recovery and independent living.
