I was delighted to attend a Citizenship Ceremony in the Borough of Dudley alongside Deputy Lieutenant Liz Foster and the Mayor of Dudley, Councillor Pete Lee and the Mayoress Gloria.
We congratulated and welcomed 21 new British Citizens from a wide range of backgrounds and highlighted the responsibilities and opportunities of becoming a Citizen in the UK. These included adherence to our laws and regulations, encouragement to engage in our democratic process through voting at elections, respect for the rights and opinion of others, engagement with community activities to make a positive difference to the lives of others and caring for our environment.
It was really uplifting ceremony and it was a delight to see how much it meant to the individuals and their families.
