It was a real pleasure and honour to attend the Ceremony at Himley Hall at which Mr Joe Bullock was granted the Freedom of the Borough of Dudley.
Joe is 100 years young and served in the Royal Navy from 1942-1946 and took part in the D-Day landings. The Ceremony was led by the Mayor of Dudley Councillor Pete Lee and Deputy Lieutenant Nick Venning spoke very powerfully about the debt of gratitude that we all owe to Joe’s generation.
It was particularly lovely to see so many of Joe’s family present to witness the Ceremony and Joe himself noted how much he is looking forward to exercising his right to drive 8 sheep down the streets of Dudley !
