I had the great pleasure of meeting with the newly appointed and inspirational Mayor of Sandwell, Councillor Syeda Khatun MBE. I was struck by her deep sense of commitment and dedication to serving the community. With 25 years of experience serving the borough, her passion for making a positive impact on the lives of Sandwell residents shone through.
As the first female Muslim Mayor of Sandwell, Councillor Khatun’s appointment is a significant milestone that reflects the diverse population of the borough. I look forward to working closely with her across my Shrieval year and to supporting her across Sandwell.
