In my role as High Sheriff of the West Midlands, I had the privilege of officially opening the newly refurbished rooms at Birmingham Hospice’s Erdington site. These beautiful spaces, made possible by the incredible Room to Care appeal, will make a real difference to patients and their families.
Congratulations to Birmingham Hospice for successfully raising an impressive £220,000 for this appeal. This was a huge collective effort with help from the local community, corporate partners, charitable trusts and their own brilliant fundraising team.
The Hospice sector in general is having such a tough time right now so please do support your local hospice in any way you can. None of us ever know when we will need the help of a charity so please do consider volunteering or donating if you can.
Finally a huge shout out to all the staff at Birmingham Hospice. The capital appeal has enabled these upgrades but the real magic of the place is the care and compassion of the staff. They really are a credit to our community.
