As we celebrated International Women’s Day last Saturday it was fitting I was invited along to attend as High Sheriff of the West Midlands, the Women in Policing (WiP) Development Day at the West Midlands Police Museum.
The day was filled with inspiring speakers who shared their personal journeys and contributions to policing, including:

🕌 Police Officer Rani Gundhu QPM H.Doctorate longest serving police officer trail blazer and breaking barriers along the way.
💪 Superintendent Sam Batey, WMP’s most senior Black female officer, spoke about resilience in the face of challenges.
🌟 Superintendent Emma Spencer wrapped up the day with a powerful message about kindness and the future of women in policing.
It was a fantastic opportunity to learn about and celebrate the amazing contributions of women who have paved the way in our force. A heartfelt thank you to all the speakers and organisers for an inspiring day!
