Balbir Seimar

For over 25 years, Balbir Seimar has selflessly volunteered with Midland International Aid Trust and, for the past six years, the World Against Single Use Plastic (WASUP). Her remarkable contributions include delivering food donated by supermarkets to those affected by the cost-of-living crisis, especially children. During the Covid pandemic, she ensured the community received food and PPE, even contracting the virus herself.

As the chief community engagement ambassador for WASUP, Balbir has united diverse community members for litter clean-ups, supporting mental health and social well-being in the wake of Covid. She organized a seminar on the dangers of plastic for 33 schools and led initiatives like the WASUP Garden in Goscote.

Balbir forms partnerships with local charities, schools, and businesses, enhancing her charity’s impact. Her warm demeanor attracts volunteers from across Walsall, and her efforts to combat loneliness include delivering gifts to isolated individuals. Balbir’s unwavering commitment and ‘can do’ attitude make her an outstanding role model and advocate for her community.
