High Sheriff Award

High Sheriff Awards are often given to those Volunteers who have made an outstanding contribution, often over an extended period of time, to the working of the justice system. Magistrates are volunteers from the community who provide their services for a minimum of 13 days a year and hear cases in the Magistrates Courts, which actually is the starting point for virtually every criminal law case that arises.

Accordingly I was delighted to return to the Victoria Law Courts to present awards alongside the Bench Chair Gillian Sebright, to some of the longest serving Magistrates from the Birmingham & Solihull Bench and thank them for their contribution to the justice system in the West Midlands.
