Claire Darke has made exceptional contributions to Wolverhampton over the past 20 years through various roles, including Mayor, community volunteer, and advocate for disability rights. She has transformed her positions into platforms for community engagement and advocacy, championing inclusivity for underrepresented groups. As Mayor, Claire initiated impactful projects like the ‘Wolves in Wolves’ public art initiative and secured membership in the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities.

Her voluntary efforts include founding the University of Wolverhampton Alumni Mayoral Scholarship Fund, which has improved local governance and community services, particularly in education and healthcare. Claire’s ‘Flourish2BU’ initiative partnered with Wolverhampton NHS to support disabled individuals, while her involvement in the Wolverhampton Suicide Prevention Stakeholders Forum has raised over £10,000 for mental health initiatives.

Claire’s advocacy has led to tangible improvements in community integration, celebrating local heroes, and preserving Wolverhampton’s history. Her resilience and dedication to inclusivity make her a vital leader in enhancing the city’s inclusivity and resilience.
