I was delighted to visit the Community Payback team in Birmingham which is part of West Midlands Probation Services.
The team do some vitally important work overseeing the implementation of CP orders made by the Courts, which enable people to give back to their communities in a structured and safe fashion.
I presented High Sheriff awards to Tony Stokes ( 40 years service ), Ovnal Bushell ( 37 years service, with a special contribution in connection with work to restore Commonwealth War Graves ), Glen Mills ( 17 years service with special contribution in relation to Birmingham Football Association Grounds in Great Barr ) and Lynne Barlowe ( 40 years service and the glue that makes it all happen ).
I expressed my thanks on behalf of the West Midlands for their exceptional service.
