I was introduced to the Cancer Kickers project by Gurpreet Bhatia DL.
It is a project which operates as part of the West Bromwich Albion Foundation under the leadership of Kevin McMahon and provides an opportunity for people recovering from or living with Cancer to participate in walking football sessions every Wednesday morning down at Ray Hall Lane.
I visited the project back in 2025 and was so impressed by the quality of the sessions and the understanding that they provide support for both physical and mental health as well as providing regular social interaction.
The Albion Foundation led by Rob Lake support the project but Kevin is a real driving force and I am delighted to recognise all of his efforts.
