High Sheriff Award

Mohammed Ahmed

Mohammed “Naj” Ahmed is a dedicated local police officer who, along with his brother, founded a grassroots football team to engage local children from deprived backgrounds and ethnic minorities. What began as a small initiative in local parks has evolved into the West Brom All Stars, a thriving club with eight teams competing in the Walsall league. Over the years, Naj’s efforts have successfully steered many children away from the streets, keeping them active and providing a positive outlet through sport.

The club has also achieved significant success, with numerous children signing with professional local and national football academies, including several in the U21 team for West Bromwich Albion. As a true role model, Naj embodies humility, dedicating five days a week to training and attending matches while fulfilling his duties as a police officer. In 2018, the West Brom All Stars won the Police Commissioner’s Outstanding Community Project award, and Naj continues to support even more children through this vital initiative. His dedication deserves immense recognition and appreciation.
