It was a privilege to attend Anawim’s 40th Anniversary Celebration and Awards Ceremony, marking four decades of life-changing support for women across Birmingham.
The afternoon was a powerful celebration of the organisation’s impact, including the impressive milestone of supporting 2,096 women in the past year alone. This figure is a testament to the scale of need being met and the dedication of everyone involved in delivering such vital services.
It was inspiring to hear the stories of resilience and progress from women who have been supported by Anawim. Their journeys are a reminder of the importance of compassion, practical help and long-term encouragement in enabling individuals to rebuild their lives and move forward with confidence.
The anniversary also provided an opportunity to recognise the extraordinary commitment of staff, volunteers and partners who have worked tirelessly over the past 40 years to create opportunities, restore confidence and bring hope to women facing significant challenges. Their work continues to make a profound difference across our communities.
