High Sheriff Events

I was honoured to host the Annual Justice Service for all those concerned with the administration of justice in the West Midlands, at Birmingham Cathedral, at the start of the legal year.

We are joined by members of the Judiciary, including many Magistrates, as well as members of His Majesty’s Courts and Tribunals Service and HM Probation Service and the Chief Constable of West Midlands Police. I was also very pleased that the Lord-Lieutenant and Lord Mayors and Mayors of each of the 7 Boroughs that make up the West Midlands were able to join us.

The Service was led by The Very Reverend Matt Thompsons, Dean of the Cathedral, the Blessing was led by the Right Reverend Dr Michael Volland, Bishop of Birmingham and the prayers were led by The Reverend Canon Dr Mark Pryce, Chaplain to the King.

The Honourable Mr Justice Choudhury led the Act of Dedication said by all those concerned with the administration of justice in the County.

Consistent with my focus on young people, I was delighted to be supported by my 10 Cadets from WM Police, WM Fire Service and St John. Ambulance.
