I had the great pleasure of attending a truly memorable day of celebration at Himley Hall, where the atmosphere was filled with warmth, pride and community spirit. I was so generously hosted by the Mayor of Dudley, Councillor Pete Lowe, and the Lady Mayoress, Sue, whose hospitality made the occasion all the more special.
It was also a delight to meet the Deputy Mayor, Councillor Adam Aston, and the Deputy Consort, Ben Middleton, and to spend time with so many people who contribute so much to the borough.
We enjoyed a wonderful lunch within the beautiful surroundings of the Hall before gathering to watch the impressive flypast by the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and parades by cadets. A walk around the exhibitors’ stalls offered a further opportunity to engage with local organisations and appreciate the depth of talent, service and dedication across Dudley.
What stood out most throughout the day was the overwhelming sense of positivity and civic pride, perfectly reflecting the Mayor’s inspiring theme of “Bostin’ Dudley” . A celebration of everything that makes the borough so special, from its heritage and creativity to its strong and caring communities.
