It was a pleasure to attend a beautiful choir concert at Birmingham Cathedral, a truly fitting and memorable occasion in a stunning setting.
The evening was particularly significant as it marked the final performance of Ashley Wagner accompanying the choir on the organ. His contribution over many years has been deeply valued, and this performance was a fitting tribute to his musicianship, dedication and service to the Cathedral’s musical life. The quality of the music and the evident affection from those performing made for a very special and emotional occasion.
The choir delivered a moving and uplifting programme, filling the Cathedral with exceptional sound and creating an atmosphere of reflection, celebration and gratitude. It was a wonderful reminder of the important role music plays in bringing communities together.
