I was delighted to attend a Carer’s Appreciation day organised by Mrs Erma Lewis BEM at the H Suite at Birmingham.
I have a much better appreciation of the role played by carers having spent recent years providing support to my elderly parents and so I was pleased to be able to thank the audience of more than 200 people who do such amazing work for both those requiring care and their wider families.
I was particularly honoured to present a special award to Mrs Sarah and Mr Malachi Thomas in recognition of their 40 years of providing care services.
