It was a privilege to meet the team and several carers at the Heart of England Carers Trust in Coventry, whose President is HRH The Princess Royal. The Trust plays a vital role in supporting carers and those they care for, providing high-quality, individually tailored services that make a meaningful difference to carers, their families and wider communities.
An important aspect of this work is their commitment to helping unpaid carers access employment and realise their potential. Through long-standing collaboration with businesses the Trust is opening up opportunities that enable carers, who are too often overlooked in the employment space, to gain skills, confidence and pathways into work.
Employers who can offer a two-week work experience placement, or provide mentoring over six months, would receive a very warm welcome from Carers Trust Heart of England.
