It was a real pleasure to attend the presentation of the Columba Trophy, an annual award celebrating excellence in secondary school theatrical productions across Birmingham.
Established in 1988 by the Knights of St Columba Council 127 Birmingham, the Columba Trophy recognises the talent, creativity and dedication of young people involved in school drama and musical theatre.
A particular thank you to Adrian de Redman and everyone at the Knights of St Columba Council 127 for their warm hospitality and for a lovely lunch. It was a privilege to join you for such a special occasion and to hear more about the work that goes into the competition each year.
What made the presentation particularly memorable was seeing just how much the awards meant to the young people receiving them. The excitement on their faces as they came forward to collect their awards was wonderful to see, and there was a real sense of pride in what they had achieved.
Congratulations to all of the schools and young people who took part this year. It was a pleasure to be there to celebrate your achievements.
