High Sheriff Events

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Virtual Decisions at Enterprise Wharf in Birmingham and meeting its inspiring CEO and co-founder, Claire Downes, together with Stuart Lane.
Virtual Decisions is harnessing the power of immersive virtual reality to help people explore the consequences of difficult choices in a safe and supportive environment. Through realistic scenarios, participants are encouraged to reflect on decision-making, develop empathy and better understand the impact their actions can have on themselves and others.
I was particularly impressed by the organisation’s work with partners across the public, education and community sectors to tackle challenging issues such as anti-social behaviour and knife crime. Their trauma-informed approach demonstrates how technology can be used not just to educate, but to inspire positive change.
My thanks to Claire and her team for such a fascinating and thought-provoking visit. It was a powerful reminder that when innovation is combined with purpose and compassion, technology can help create safer, stronger and more resilient communities.
