I was delighted to be invited by the Consul General of Romania in Birmingham to mark International Roma Day, an event dedicated to fostering dialogue, raising awareness and strengthening understanding and cooperation across the Romanian community in the region, working together for greater inclusion.
A wide range of organisations came together, including local authorities, health services, charities, NGOs, the police. The event provided a valuable opportunity to learn more about the history, culture and identity of the Roma community, and to explore how trust and collaboration can be built through a genuine commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.
