What an absolute pleasure to spend a couple of hours with the wonderful Pru Porretta MBE, Coventry’s present-day Lady Godiva.
Pru is quite simply a force of nature! Her warmth, energy and passion for Coventry are infectious, and I loved hearing about the many ways she has championed the city and its communities over more than four decades.
Through the Godiva Trust, and alongside the Godiva Sisters, Pru has brought the spirit of Lady Godiva into the present day, promoting the values of compassion, community and making a difference to others.
Wonderful company, wonderful stories and a truly remarkable woman. I came away with an even greater appreciation of Coventry’s extraordinary heritage and of the woman who has dedicated so much of her life to keeping the spirit of Lady Godiva alive.
