I was delighted to be invited to Millennium Point at the start of National Apprenticeships week to open the third Ladder Foundation Apprenticeship Construction Jobs Fair.
It was most appropriate to host the event at Millennium Point as outside the front door is evidence of all the construction work being undertaken on the Birmingham Terminus of HS2.
I spoke to those present about the national priorities around investment in infrastructure and housing and the broad range of different roles that exist within the Construction sector.
It was really encouraging that there were 25 employers present to talk about apprenticeships to over 300 students from 35 local schools.
