I was delighted to attend the Lord Mayor of Birmingham’s Annual Civic Service at St Martin’s in the Bull Ring, celebrating the beginning of Lord Mayor Councillor Zakar Choudhry’s mayoral year.
It was wonderful to join fellow civic leaders, dignitaries and faith representatives, including the Deputy Lieutenant Wade Lyn, the Mayor of Solihull, Councillor Sardul Singh Marwa MBE, Birmingham City Council Leader Roger Harmer, and Michaela Savu, Consul General of Romania in Birmingham.
The service was a powerful reflection of Birmingham’s diversity, unity and commitment to public service. I wish the Lord Mayor every success in the year ahead as he serves the people and communities of our great city.
