I had a really enjoyable morning at the home of the Midland Air Ambulance Charity on the occasion of their annual volunteers Christmas meeting.
MAAC operates 3 Air Ambulances across 6 Counties of the west midlands region and has responded to over 80,000 missions since it was formed in 1991. It also runs a fleet of critical care vehicles which attend when weather conditions make it difficult to fly, and the average response time to emergency situations is a highly impressive 10 minutes.
In addition to having an opportunity to learn more about the service, I was also able to thank the many volunteers for the tireless work that they undertake in fundraising in support of the activities of the Charity
