I had a really enjoyable but very worthwhile afternoon at the WM Police’s Tally Ho training facility with the Cadets and I was very pleased that we were joined my two St John Ambulance cadets to support.
We were preparing Triage Packs to be carried in every Police Vehicle for use on major incidents. It is vitally important that the first responders to arrive at the scene of a major incident have an easy but effective way to identify those who are in most need of medical support. The Triage kits have been developed with the NHS and give officers a proven way in which to prioritise those who will be seen by the teams from West Mids Ambulance service at such incidents and ultimately optimise the chances of saving lives.
We also had an opportunity to learn more about the work of the Armed Response and Dog Handling units of WM Police
