It was a real pleasure for me and Amanda to entertain a number of judges from Birmingham, Coventry and Wolverhampton at a performance of The Winters Tale at the RSC, showcasing another jewel in the arts sector of the West Midlands.
We were joined by the Co-Artistic Director Tamara Harvey who explained the history of the RSC and its longstanding commitment to presenting exciting and thought provoking work by both Shakespeare and new writers.
The production itself directed by Yale Farber lived up to that objective with outstanding performances by Bertie Carvel ( returning to the RSC for the first time since playing Trunchbull in Matilda ) and Madeline Appiah in the roles of Leontes and Hermione
