It was a great privilege to attend the Solihull Civic Honours Awards 2026, an inspiring evening dedicated to recognising the remarkable individuals and organisations who go above and beyond to support their communities across Solihull. These awards shine a well-deserved spotlight on local “unsung heroes” whose dedication and compassion make a lasting difference.
I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the Mayor of Solihull, Annette Mackenzie, for her warm welcome and for hosting such a meaningful celebration of community spirit. Her continued commitment to recognising and championing local contributions is truly commendable. Huge thanks to Sue Mellor Solihull council for superbly coordinating all of the nominations and fellow judges who diligently assessed each nomination.
It was an honour to present the Volunteer Contribution Award to David Gamble, which celebrates him demonstrating outstanding dedication and impact through service to others. Great to catch up with Alison McGrory Solihull Council, Karen Grinsell Leader of Solihull council, Clive Stone LCS, and Samantha Framton from Solihull Chamber
The evening served as a powerful reminder of the strength and kindness within our communities, and I congratulate all nominees and winners for their exceptional efforts.
