I enjoyed an extremely rewarding morning at the Hawthorns when I got to observe and engage with a summer holiday session being run for Children in Care,
As well as a Stadium tour, the children got to engage with a range of of sessions to support life and communication skills, as well as an exercise linked to potential future careers. The participants ranged from those who have been attending for two years, to those for whom this was their first session, but they were all incredibly engaged throughout the morning and they clearly got a huge amount from the session.
It was also a real pleasure to have a chance to talk to them a little bit about the role of the High Sheriff, the formal Court dress and the thinking behind the High Sheriff badge.
