It was a real pleasure to attend a performance of Mozart’s Magic Flute at the Birmingham Rep, which was the result of a collaboration between The Transformation Partnership and Oasis Community Learning.
It was fabulous to see The Rep stage full of over 200 young people performing alongside professional singers and musicians and delivering a performance that their parents and friends were clearly very proud of.
The Transformation Partnership is a wonderful organisation delivering world class classical music and ballet education to nearly 1,000 children per week at 16 different schools, exclusively in disadvantaged communities across the West Midlands. The evidence is really clear that this type of engagement improves broader educational attainment as well as providing great pleasure to all involved.
