It was a pleasure to visit the MACH Exhibition at the National Exhibition Centre, hosted by the Manufacturing Technologies Association, and to see at first hand the strength and innovation of our manufacturing sector.

The exhibition brought together leading exhibitors showcasing the latest advances in manufacturing systems, automation and robotics, data-driven production, cutting tools and quality assurance. It was impressive to see how rapidly technology continues to transform modern manufacturing, with a clear focus on improving efficiency, precision and sustainability.

What particularly stood out this year was the emphasis on skills, education and young people. Across the event there was a strong commitment to inspiring the next generation, with engaging demonstrations and clear pathways into apprenticeships and technical careers. The energy and curiosity of the young visitors was especially encouraging.

The MACH Exhibition highlighted not only technological excellence, but also the importance of investing in people. The West Midlands has a proud manufacturing heritage, and events such as this demonstrate how innovation and skills development will ensure its continued success in the future.
