I was delighted to visit the Thursday Club lunch at Solihull Hebrew Congregation, which has been a cherished part of the community for the past 35 years.
From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with warmth, friendship and a genuine sense of belonging. The Thursday Club provides much more than a meal; it offers companionship, support and an opportunity for people to come together, share experiences and enjoy each other’s company in a welcoming environment.
I was particularly impressed by the wonderful home-cooked food. The meal was delicious and clearly enjoyed by everyone present. It was heartening to see how much thought and effort goes into creating not only excellent food but also an atmosphere where people feel connected.
I had the pleasure of meeting many lovely people who shared fascinating stories and life experiences. Their warmth, humour and wisdom made the visit especially memorable, and it was inspiring to hear about the friendships that have been formed and sustained through the Thursday Club over so many years.
I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Rabbi Pink for his warm welcome and hospitality.
