High Sheriff Events

Whilst I have lived in the County of West Midlands for the last 50 years, I was actually born in Leicester and the High Sheriff of Leicestershire very kindly arranged a special visit for me to the city.

We started with a visit to the home of Leicester Tigers and were shown around by Sam Swift the CEO of the Foundation which does great work with young people in local communities, including in the city of Coventry.

We then visited my former junior School, which I attended from 1971 – 1975 and had an opportunity to talk to some of the young children about the role of the High Sheriff.

We completed the day with a fascinating visit to the Richard III Visitor Centre and Leicester Cathedral to learn amore about the fascinating history around the end of the reign of Richard II in 1485 and the discovery of his remains in a car park in Leicester in 2012.
