I had a most enjoyable visit to the Bardlsey Youth Project in Coventry alongside the Lord Mayor, Councillor Rachel Lancaster.
The project has been operating for over 20 years to provide vital support to young people between the ages of 16-25 who are struggling with accommodation. Many of these young people are the “hidden homeless” who are not necessarily sleeping rough on the streets but are often sofa surfing between friends and family.
The Bardsley team help them to find their own accommodation and provide furniture and food and hygiene starter kits and then ongoing support and guidance at times when they may be particularly vulnerable.
