During the course of my Shrieval year, I have had the opportunity to visit all of the 11 major Court Buildings across the County, with my final visit being to Coventry Combined Court.
This includes Crown and Civil courts and includes a specialist FDAC court which hears cases involving families impacted by Drug and Alcohol addiction. These specialist courts have been in existence for over 10 years and have a proven track record of helping people with their addiction issues which often contributed to their record of offending, reduces the risk of reoffending and increases the chances that mothers and fathers can be reunited with their children once it is safe for them to be in a position to do so.
I was delighted to be able to present High Sheriff Awards to a number of the HMCTS teams who make a vital contribution to the efficient working of these Courts.
