It was a real pleasure to visit the Walsall Transition and Leaving Care Hub to learn more about the vital work being undertaken to support Care Leavers who have been in custody , to enable them to get their lives back on track.
It was really encouraging to hear from the WMPCC Simon Foster and Rosie Blackett from Spectra based in Wolverhampton, who operate the Care Leavers Covenant on behalf of the Government.
What is clear is that it is critically important that there is effective collaboration between WM Police, the local authorities and other government agencies to ensure the vulnerable young people get the support they need with accommodation, training and employment and emotional support.
