I had a really enjoyable evening with the Wednesbury Fire Cadets, which includes my own High Sheriff Cadets Tyler and Isabelle.
The Cadets were practising and hopefully perfecting a variety of exercises which will feature as part of the West Midlands Cadets training day at Sutton Coldfield Fire station on 30 May. The group were learning skills but also having a lot of fun along the way.
One thing that struck me about the session was how much the more experienced cadets are encouraged to develop their coaching and leadership skills by training the more junior members of the group.
