I was delighted to recently attend the Swearing-In Ceremony for eight newly appointed magistrates to the Coventry & Warwickshire Bench at Coventry Magistrates’ Court.
Hosted by the Bench Chair and attended by the Lord-Lieutenant of Warwickshire and the Resident Judge of Coventry & Warwickshire Crown Court, the ceremony marked an important milestone as the new magistrates took their Oath of Allegiance and formally commenced their service to the community.
It was a particularly proud occasion for the magistrates and their families, recognising the commitment they have made to supporting the administration of justice.
As a serving Family Magistrate myself, I know first-hand how rewarding and fulfilling this role can be. Magistrates give their time voluntarily and play a vital role in ensuring justice is delivered fairly, independently and with the confidence of the communities they serve.
Our justice system depends upon individuals from all walks of life who are willing to step forward and serve. Congratulations to all eight new magistrates as they begin this important civic duty. I wish them every success for the future.
