I was delighted join the West Midlands Fire Service for their annual Reward and Recognition Awards Ceremony held at Edgbaston Cricket Ground, at the invitation of the Chief Fire Officer, Simon Tuhill.
It was fantastic evening and a real celebration of the wide contribution made by members of WMFS across a range of different areas during the past 12 months. This not included exceptional bravery in the face of major incidents, but also community and fundraising activities which play a vital role in the prevention of incidents. I was particularly pleased to note the award given to the Casualty Simulation team who make a vital contribution to the Training programmes for new recruits.
I was pleased that my two WMFS Cadets, Isabelle and Tyler were able to attend the evening and had an opportunity to meet the Chief Fire Officer.
